Test procedure for measurement of Serum Amyloid A (SAA)

For this analysis you will need:

  • EVA1 spectrophotometer
  • 100 μl Buffer #1
  • 100 μl Buffer #2
  • 2 µl sample (or calibrator)
  • 1 cuvette
  • 2 pipettes

How to:

1. First turn on the EVA1 spectrophotometer, so that it is heated up for later use.

2 . Dispense 100 µl Buffer#1 into the cuvette.

3. Followed by 2 µl sample. It is important for the outcome of the test, that the amount is precisely 2 µl.

4. Place the cuvette in the EVA1 spectrophotometer as shown in the drawing: Arrow against arrow.

5. Let the sample and Buffer#1 heat for 10 minutes, alternatively in 37°C incubator.

6 . Press the RUN (F1)...

7. Then immediately add 100 µl Buffer#2 to the cuvette.

8. Remove and shake the cuvette for 15 sec. with a Vortex Mixer.

9. Hit the cuvette gently against a hard surface to assure enough liquid is in the measuring area at the bottom.

10. Before countdown place the cuvette in the cuvette holder of the EVA1.

11. Read out result after 3 minutes.
